As an Early Childhood Educator, I encourage diversity and bilingualism.

I always advise families to find ways to support children’s home languages and encourage them to keep their language strong.

By reading books, singing, and talking every day to the child.

The child’s brain is like a sponge during those first 6 years, which means, their brain can absorb and soak up huge amounts of information from the environment.

So, if you are a bilingual parent, give your child many chances to hear and practice both languages during the day.
